Loper, 93, of 608 James, Belding, died April 11, 1995 at Belding Christian Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 1, 1902, in Easton Township, the son of Joseph and Myrtle Hannock Loper. He retired from Wolverine Industries in 1968 after 20 years, and was a member of New Hope Church of God of Belding. He was married April 8, 1927, in Ionia, to the former Goldie Telfor; she died in Sept. 29, 1976. Surviving is a daughter, Elaine (Dewey) Allison of Belding; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Cottrell of Ionia; a brother, Marvin Loper of Belding. Preceding him in death was a son, Lloyd Loper Sr., in 1978; a brother, Leonard; and two sisters, Marvel Gage and Lulu Lewis. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. from Johnson Funeral Home, Belding, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Burial will be in River Ridge Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial for the American Cancer Society has been established, in care of the funeral home.
