The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, January 10, 1962

Mrs. Myrtle Loper, 78, died Monday at 3:50 p.m. at the home of her daughter, 
Mrs. Marvel Gage in Oscoda.  She was born July 25, 1882 in Sidney, Montcalm 
County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hancock, and was married in 1897 
to Joseph Loper.  He died in 1959.  Mrs. Loper had lived in Muir 34 years and 
was a member of First Christian church of Muir.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lulu Lewis of Muir, Mrs. Helen 
Cottrell of Ionia, and Mrs. Marvel Gage; three sons, Leonard, Charles and 
Marvin Loper of Belding; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

The body will repose at Shaw-Rivett funeral home until 1 o’clock Thursday when 
it will be removed to First Christian church of Muir for funeral service at 
2:30 p.m.  The Rev. Roger Wright will officiate and burial will be at Oakwood 
cemetery at Muir.

Funeral service for Mrs. Myrtle Loper, 78, who died Monday afternoon at 
Oscoda, was held Thursday afternoon at Muir First Christian church.  The Rev. 
Roger Wright officiated and burial was at Oakwood cemetery at Muir.

Bearers were Clifford Halsted, Otis Ries, Omer Postle, Albert Edmonds, Laural 
McKown and Isadore Zimmer.
