Loper, 86, of Belding died Thursday evening November 8, 2007 at Carson City Hospital. Jessie was born on September 29. 1921 in St. Boswells, Sasketchewan the daughter of Alonzo and Rose Camp Thompson. Jessie graduated from Belding High School and was very active in the Belding community serving on the Belding Museum Board, the Ladies Garden Club, the Historical Society, Belding School Board, Zoning Board of Appeals and was past president of the Band Parents and Ladies Literary Club. She was a member of the Belding United Methodist Church. Jessie also enjoyed nature and was proud that her home was certified as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat. One of her proudest accomplishments was becoming a US Citizen in the 1960’s. Jessie was married on September 11, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio to Kenneth Loper and he survives along with their children, Kenneth and Judy Loper of North Liberty, Ind., Morrell E. Loper of Belding, Marco and Janice Loper of Gowen, Jessica and Ralph Simmons of Perrinton, Gerry Loper of Lansing, and Ann and Jeffery Hall of Naples, FL. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and one sister, May Jane Kovac of Bloomfield Hills. She was preceded by her parents, two sisters, Alice and Myrtle and two brothers, Eugene and Kenneth. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and no visitation will be held. A memorial service for Jessie will be 11:00 am Monday at the Belding United Methodist Church with Pastor Connie Shatz officiating.
