May 26, 1977 Lial Losey, 89, of 228 West Riverside drive died late Wednesday afternoon at Ionia county Memorial hospital after a long illness. He was born in Ithaca April 11, 1888, the sone of Edward and Jennie Brower Losey. Mr. Losey attended schools in Ithaca and moved to Ionia to make his home. He served with the U.S. Army in World (War) I and returned to Ionia after the war where he was employed at Ypsilanti Reed and Ionia Manufacturing for over 40 years retiring in 1960. Mr. Losey married the former Agnes Smith in Ionia in 1925 and they made their home on West Riverside since then. She preceded him in death in October, 1972. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Losey at home and Mrs.Laurence (Wanetta) Emelander of Ionia; one sister, Mrs. Ivan (Tilo) Johnson of Lansing and five grandchildren. Services are Saturday at 1 pm from teh Leddick funeral home with Rev. Charles Fullmer officiating. Burial is in Palo cemetery.
