Ionia County News, 19 Jul 1956

Mrs. Clarissa A. Loveland, 56, died Saturday at Traverse City after a year’s 
illness. Born October 2, 1899 at Johannesburg, the daughter of George and Mina 
Welsh, she had lived in Belding the past 12 years.  She had formerly lived in 
Detroit.

Mrs. Loveland had operated a beauty shop in Belding on Main Street for nine 
years and was a member of Grattan Grange.  On June 25, 1944 she was married to 
Frank Loveland at Belding.  He survives.  Previously she was married to Arthur 
Coutts.

Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Jean Palazzola, Oak Park; a 
son, George Coutts, New Mexico; two step-sons, Lester and Charles Loveland, 
Belding; three step-daughters, Mrs. Marvin Schooley, Greenville, Mrs. Carl 
Mason, Kalamazoo, and Mrs. Leota Selb, Kaleva.  There are 19 grandchildren and 
14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Huffman Funeral Home 
with the Rev. William Jones of Detroit officiating.  Burial will be in Orleans 
Cemetery.
