B. Heath received a telegram on Saturday announcing the death in Chicago of Homer Lovell, formerly of this city. The body was brought here on the 8:29 Grand Trunk train Monday morning, for burial in Highland Park. Mr. Lovell was about 70 years old, a son of the late Judge Louis S. Lovell, of the Ionia circuit, a pioneer resident of this city. He and his brother, Henry Lovell, now dead, formed the firm of Lovell Brothers, who sold hardware for many years in the store where the Harris Furniture Company now does business. After the death of his brother, Mr. Lovell and his family moved to Chicago, where they have lived for a number of years. He is survived by his wife and three sons—Whitney, who is married, James and Adin, all Chicago residents. Mrs. S. B. Higenbotham, also of Chicago, is a sister. The body of Homer Lovell was brought from Chicago Monday and was taken directly to Highland Park for burial. Mrs. Lovell and two sons—Whitney and Adin—came on the same train, and Mrs. Henry Lovell and Louis Lovell of Grand Rapids were here to attend the burial. The brief committal service was conducted by Rev. M. L. Marshall.
