Nov. 1, 1907 DEATH OF MAJ. DON G. LOVELL Maj. Don G. Lovell dropped dead of hart failure Friday last, in Tacoma, Wash., while on the street on his was to attend a meeting of the First Church of Christ, Scientist. Maj. Lovell was a brother of Mrs. Angelo E. Tower and Mrs. John Thompson and was 66 years of age. He was born in Ionia county on the old Jerry Spaulding farm, northeast of the city, and lived there with his parents until he enlisted for the war and went out with the Sixth Michigan cavalry. For a time his father lived at Spring Lake, but he has been in the west many years. Maj. Lovell was prominent in G.A.R. circles in the west, being a past commander of the Department of Washington and Alaska. His record during the war was good and he served with Custer. Mrs. Tower, his sister, is now a resident of Tacoma, and Mrs. Thompson lives in Spring Lake. Additional Comments: 6th Mi.
