The funeral of Jacob W. Lowden was attended from the home of his son-in-law, 
Richard Reynolds, on Sunday afternoon, February 13.  Mr. Lowden was born in 
Greece, Monroe county, New York, July 5, 1826 and came to Ionia County in 
1865.  He was married on January 20, 1870 to Mrs. Emily Tew-Gorton, who 
survives him.  There were no children born to this union.  

Mr. Lowden was of a genial and kindly disposition and was very active for one 
of his advanced age until about two months ago, when his health began to fail. 

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. G. Lewis, with music by Mrs. 
Thane Benedict and Mrs. G. M. Phelps.  The floral offerings were many and very 
beautiful, testimonials of sympathizing friends.  The remains were laid to 
rest in Easton cemetery.
