Mary Louise Lower, 82, a resident of San Clemente, Calif., formerly of Ionia, 
passed away Oct. 10, 2001.

Mary Louise graduated as Salutatorian from SS. Peter & Paul High School in 
1937.  She worked with her husband Jack as a bookkeeper at Lower Brothers and 
she was active in both church and community activities.  Jack and Mary moved to 
California in the late 1960s.

She is survived by her son John G. (Soon) Lower, San Clemente, daughter Linda 
Anne (Gerry) Stedman, of Ionia, one brother, Joseph A. (Maxine) Shindorf, of 
Belding; five grandchildren; Robert (Jane) Stedman, John (Lisa) Stedman, Anna, 
Kimberly and Benjamin Lower, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by John Arthur Lower on Nov. 21, 1983; and her 
parents Peter and Rose (Kessler) Shindorf.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at SS. Peter & Paul Parish on 
Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Mel Fox presiding.  Memorial 
contributions may be sent to Linda Stedman, 5251 Stedman Rd., Ionia, for 
Immaculate Heart of Mary Mother House in Monroe, Mich.
