   Excerpts from Ionia Obituary

       MATTHEW JAMES LOWER

Died October 2, 2025-age 66 of Ionia.
Born September 8, 1959, he was a lifelong Ionia County resident.
He graduated from Ionia High School in 1977.
Matt enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, & camping-but especially loved deer 
hunting.
He cherished trips to Bois Blanc Island whith his family.
He found peace & happiness in nature.
He was fascinated with aviation, which included building & flying model 
airplanes.
He was also a talented mechanic & car enthusiast, who took great pride in 
restoring his 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass.
Matt began his career working at the family's Dairy Queen & later spent many 
years with Frigidaire/Electrolux before retiring from AGA Marvel Refrigeration 
in Greenville as a Senior Designer/Programer.
In retirement he enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife, children & 
grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents,Raymond & Joyce Lower, grandparents, Esther & 
James D.Lower.
Survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Karen (Larson) Lower, children Dana 
Lower (Jason Agostini), James (Kristen)Lower, & Jennifer Lower, grandchildren 
Aaron, Kate, Weston & Vera & sisters Denise Web & Elizabeth Steele.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, October 18, 2025, St.Johns 
Lutheran Church in Ionia.
Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service (10AM-11AM).
