Robert E. Lowery, 69, of route 1, Muir, died at Carson City hospital Sunday
evening following an extended illness.  Born in Missaukee county May 22, 1904,
he was the son of Robert and Belle Snyder Lowery.  He was married to Lillian
Ostrander in 1926 and she preceded him in death in 1956.  In 1962 he was married
to Lenora Hyde and she survives.  He was a member of Lyons Masonic lodge and
attended the North Plains community church.

Besides the wife, Lenora, he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Katherine Hearld of
Muir, Mrs. Maxine Cowan of Houston, Texas, and Lois Jean Lowery of Lansing; two
stepdaughters, Mrs. Barbara Sirrine and Mrs. Helen Munn of Big Rapids; stepson,
Lynn Smith of Memphis, Tenn; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild; three
brothers, Henry Lowery of Tacoma, Wash., and Louis and Carl Lowery of Muir;
three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Williams of DeWitt, Mrs. Avis Fedewa of Ionia and
Mrs. Nora Maus of Lyons.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m.at North Plains Community church,
Rev. Allan Martin will officiate and interment will be at Muir cemetery. 
Bearers will be grandsons.  Mr. Lowery will be at Estep funeral home north of
Muir until time for services Wednesday.  A memorial has been established for the
cardiac unit at Carson City hospital.
