She was born Aug. 2, 1889, in Tawas, Mich., the daughter of Thomas and Julia Steck Dingman. She was married Jan. 12, 1911, to Ed N. Lowrey, former Ionia County Sheriff, who preceded her in death in Dec. 1941. A member of Ionia First Baptist Church, Mrs. Lowrey served for more than 40 years as church secretary. She was also employed by Stevenson’s department store, Trojan Knitting Mills, and also did alterations in her own home. Prior to moving to Monroe, she was a resident at Pine Vista. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. A. C. (Florence) Kohler of Monroe; one brother, Thomas Dingman of Holland, and one granddaughter, Mrs. Laurie Halladay of St. Louis, Mo., and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. from the Myers-Roetman Funeral Home, the Rev. Elmer Katterjohn officiating. Burial will be in Saranac Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Ionia First Baptist Church, in the care of the funeral home.
