July 25, 1963 State Police crime lab officers, called to Ionia Wednesday to investigate the death of 14-year old Sharon E. Lozo of 446 Center street, completed their work late Wednesday following an autopsy. Coroner Dale Kauffman of Ionia said the death was caused by a self inflicted shotgun wound in the heart. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Lozo, she was born October 19, 1948 in Ionia and was a junior high school student. Surviving besides her parents are a sister, Amie Allison Lozo and a brother, John Erwin, both at home; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Lozo of Lake Odessa, and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Verda MacKenzie of Tallahassee, Fla. Funeral service will be Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock at Morris funeral home in Saranac with Rev. Karl Pike of Galilean Baptist church officiating. Burial will be at Saranac cemetery. Students wishing to donate for flowers may leave their contributions with Corinne Wapiennik at the Martha Washington café, Norma Jean Monks or Lee Lampman.
