Funeral services were held at the home April 17, Rev. D.Q. Barry of Lowell officiating, interment at Pinkney cemetery, in Keene. Mrs. Lucas was born in ____fries, Canada, April 3, 1830, and came to Michigan with her parents, Henry and Julia Foster in 1839. She was married to Wm. Lucas August 27, 1854, settling on his farm in Keene, where they lived until his death 18 years ago. Four children were born to them, three of whom preceded their mother to the home beyond. Besides her daughter, she leaves one sister, Mrs. Phebe Davison, two grandchildren and many friends and relatives to mourn their loss. Mrs. Lucas possessed many of the sterling qualities of the early pioneer and could relate many of the interesting events of those early days. She was a faithful wife and mother and also was a good, kind neighbor.
