Luce, 70, of 823 Cross St., Portland, died Sunday in a Lansing hospital. She was born Jan. 21, 1911, the daughter of George Youncker and Minnie Croy. Mrs. Luce is survived by her husband, Hollis; four sons, D.H. Luce, of Trenton, Fla., C.G. Luce, L.Y. Luce and R.B. Luce, all of Scottville; seven daughters, Ireta K. Brownell, of Ionia, Irene Galvin, of Eagle, Mona Walker, of Lake Odessa, Mildred Parsons, of Lansing, and Annette McCaul, Joyce Wells and Darlene MacPhee, all of Portland; 52 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Danzell Youncker of Fenton, and Ross Westrick, of Coden; a half brother Phillip Youncker; five half sisters, Geraldine Rugg, of Weidman, Georgia Pating, of Holt, Patricia Riels, of Lansing, Jackuline Edlin, of Lansing, and Pauline Eddick, of Detroit. Mrs. Luce was a member of St. Patrick’s alter society and a past president of the Women’s Relief Corp. Rosary will be today at 8 p.m. at the Neller Funeral Home. Mass will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s in Portland with the Rev. Donald Weber officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia. Pallbearers will be George Brownell, Michael Morse, William Walker, Donald Parsons, Hollis McCaul, and Dee and Allen Luce.
