She had made her home with her daughter for the past eight years. Born July 11, 1877 to Almond and Clara Van Nornum in Gratiot county, she moved to Palo with her family. She was married March 4, 1896 to Curtis C. Luce of Ronald and they resided in Ronald township until moving to Grand Rapids eight years ago. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1947 and Mr. Luce died in 1950. Mrs. Luce was a member of Ronald Grange. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Vallie Carey and son-in-law, Clayton Carey and one grandson, Verlen? Carey of Grand Rapids; a brother, Murvel Van Nornum of Marshall and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Jay Van Nornum preceded her in death in 1955. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Palo Methodist church with the Rev. Walter Wiggins of South Lawn Church of God of Grand Rapids, officiating. ----- Funeral service for Ollie Luce who died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Vallie Carey of Grand Rapids, was held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Palo Methodist church. The Rev. Walter Wiggins of Grand Rapids officiated. He is pastor of the South Lawn Church of God. Mrs. Wingeier of Palo furnished music. Bearers were Dee Van Nornum, Lemmen Gladding, Fred E. Jenks, Hollis M. Luce, Peter Van Vleck and Harold Brownell. Interment was in the Palo cemetery. Attending the service from away were Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Luce of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jenks, Mrs. Donald Funkey, Mrs. Herman Lemke, Peter Van Vleck, Ionia, Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Jenks of Fenwick, and Harold Brownell of Muir.
