Mrs. Ludwick, who was formerly Ida Ranous was born in Canada in 1870 and came to Michigan with her parents in 1885 and they settled at Woods Corners. After a few years there they went to Lowell, where Mr. Ranous was in the lumber business. Later they went four miles north Muir, where the family was engaged in lumbering off a piece of timber. While living here in 1889 she was married to Herman Ludwick and they settled on the farm now owned by Henry Harder?. Remaining here until 19??, when they sold their farm and moved to Muir, later taking up there residence in Ionia, and a few months ago purchased the west end dairy, and as long as Mrs. Ludwick was able she assisted in the management of the preparation of the various dairy products at which she was an expert. Few people have earned the merited reputation which she had received. Not many were ever more responsive in cases of sickness and death than she was and many times, especially in the last months of her illness, she forgot her own suffering momentarily as she went to the bedside of others, trying to help relieve their condition. Mrs. Ludwick was the mother of four children who are: Ernest, of Muir, Ross, of Ionia, these two, with her husband, one sister, Mrs. Abe Collier, of Saginaw, two brothers, William Ranous, of Florida and Edward Ranous, of Belding and two little grandsons survive here. Two little daughters Reva and Betsy died while very young. The funeral cortege will arrive in Muir Wednesday noon and will go to the home of Ernest Ludwick where the services will probably be held later in the week.
