All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sandy Heintzelman sheintz@iserv.net August 4, 2011, 12:01 pm Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 2 Jan 1958 Mrs. Jessie Trychena Ludwick, 80, resident of Gladwin and a former resident of Ionia, daughter of the late Daniel and Trychena (Hoffman) Stoudt, at one time prominent farmers in North Plains township, died at 11:02 p.m. Tuesday, December 31. She died at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Hartman with whom she had been making her home. Mrs. Ludwick had been ill for two weeks prior to her death. Born in North Plains township, Ionia county, June 27, 1877, she had resided in Ionia until five years ago when she went to Gladwin. She was married December 24, 1895 at the home of her parents in North Plains township and was a member of the United Church of the Brethren at Matherton until the time of her death. While in her youth, she organized a Woman’s Missionary Society and served as president for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ludwick, May 18, 1949, in Ionia and also a daughter, Mrs. Clare Myers. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. W.E. (Grace) Hartman of Gladwin, a sister, Mrs. Minnie Millford of St. Louis and three grandchildren, Richard and Sue Ann Hartman and Dean Clare Myers of Gladwin. The body will be at the home of the W.E. Hartman’s at 501 Martin street in Gladwin where a service will be conducted Friday evening at 8 o’clock by the Rev. F.E. Voller. Saturday the body will lie in state from 12:30 noon at the North Plains church near Muir until 7 p.m. where funeral service will be conducted. Burial will be in North Plains cemetery and arrangements are in care of the Miner funeral home at Gladwin. Bearers will be nephews, Elwood Stoudt, Roy Stoudt, Claude Eldridge, Ralph Kimball, Dr. W.E.
