Ludwick, Matherton, Is Electrocuted Stephen A. Ludwick, 65, of Matherton was killed instantly by electrocution Monday afternoon while working on a well. He and two neighbors were pulling a well pipe from the ground when it came in contact with a high-tension wire. The accident happened at the home of William Baker, the two men being assisted by Thomas Jefferies. Both Baker and Jeffries were injured by the electricity but escaped the fate of Mr. Ludwick. Both Jefferies and Baker were thrown away from the pipe by the electric current. The Ionia County Sheriff and Coroner were called and investigated, the latter stating that there would not be any inquest. Mr. Ludwick is survived by his widow; three daughters, Geraldine Bennett, Mrs. Oreal Reed and Mrs. Marjorie Clark, all of Matherton, two sons, Chelsea of Sheridan, and Harold at home; one brother, Fred of Lansing; two sisters, Mrs. Corey Patrick of Matherton and Mrs. Cora Catlin of Milwaukee. The body of Mr. Ludwick was taken to the Abbott funeral home in Maple Rapids.
