Pete was born in Lansing, Michigan on October 1, 1933 to S.Ardis (Davarn) and Harold B.Ludwick. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Pete married the love of his life, Annie (Bales) on May 26, 2007. They enjoyed many years of great times together. Peter worked for 33 years for the State of Michigan until his retirement.He officiated baseball, softball, football, and basketball game for over 55 years and HE NEVER MISSED A CALL! Pete was a sports fanatic, he loved the MSU Spartans, Detroit Tigers, and Lions. He both played and coached baseball for many yeas and was inducted into the Gratiot County baseball league hall of fame in 2012. His family and friends enjoyed many backyard gatherings at his home, as well as parties at the lake. The Super bowl was another major event at Pete's house - the gatherings started out small and graduated to actual bleachers in his living room. March 17th - St.Patrick's Day, was his favorite holiday. He celebrated at Shiel's Tavern and the American Legion in Hubbardston every years and was always dressed in his green garb. Pete was a loving husband, who cared for Annie for several years and was heart broken when he lost her. He loved his children, adored his grandchildren, and was a friend to all. He will be deeply missed. Preceding Pete in death are his parents; the mother of his children, Barbara Ann Ludwick; wife, Ann Bales-Ludwick; son, Kurt Ludwick; brothers,, Dave and Tom Ludwick; and grandson, Adam Thelen. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kim (Tom) Thelen, Kay Thelen, Kevin Ludwick, and Kelly Ludwick; grandchildren,Craig (Shelly), Josh, Travis (Laura),Teghan (Jen), Brent (Brenda) Shannon (Chad), Jeremy, James, and Abbigail; 17 great-grandchildren; brother-in- law, Dave (Patty) VanDomele; Ann's daughter, Becca Bales-Usher; her grandchildren, Caitie and Carl Usher; Ann's siblings, Carolee (Jeff) Macfarlane, James (Fran) Poole, Gail (Dan) Lower, rick (Kim) Poole and all of their children. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Rev. Thomas Brown at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at St.Joseph Catholic Church, Pewamo. The family received friends on Tuesday,July 5 from 3-7 p.m. at the Lehman FuneralHome, 220 Rich Street, Ionia.
