Uncle John Ludwick, for years a familiar figure on our streets, dies Tuesday at home of a daughter southwest of Ionia. The funeral of the late Uncle John Ludwick, as he was familiarly known, was held yesterday afternoon from the Baptist church, Rev. F. MacGirr officiating. Interment was made in the cemetery on East Plains. Mr. Ludwick, who had been making his home with daughter near Ionia had been in his usual good health up to the hour of his death, which came to him suddenly Tuesday afternoon just after he had finished changing some wearing apparel. The remains were brought to Pewamo Wednesday noon and taken to the home of his grandson, B. A. Ludwick to await the funeral obsequies. Uncle John was known to every resident of Pewamo, past and present. He was 94 years of age at the time of his death and came to Pewamo and entered into the mercantile business when it was nothing more than an Indian trading post. For the past few years he has been maling his home with his relatives in different parts of the state.
