Ludwick, 76, of Shelby Township, formerly of Ionia, passed away on May 16, 2006. He was born on November 24, 1929 in St. Johns the son Harold B. and Susan Ardis (Davarn) Ludwick. David retired from General Motors after 34 years of service, was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War and an avid hunter and golfer. He was very active in youth sports and for 40 years, officiated many sporting events. David delivered Meals on Wheels and was a member St. Renee Catholic Church in Sterling Heights, where he was active in various church activities. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thomas. Surviving are a loving companion, Carol Poma of Shelby Township and her family; children Nick (Larriann) Ludwick of Alma, Susan (Gregg) Butts of Williamston, Gale (Gregg) Yeomans of Ionia, Tony (fiancee, Esper) Ludwick of Holland, Beth (Tom) Krausz of Portland, Tim Ludwick of Perry, and Patrick Ludwick of Ionia; former wife, Velma Ludwick; grandchildren Eric and Chelsea Ludwick, Caden Kipp, Bradley Butts, Dan Yeomans, Eben, Tommy, Nick, Brittney and Sommer Krausz; 1 Great Grandchild, Regan Ludwick; brother, Peter Ludwick of Ionia and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Melvin Fox, Pastor at 11 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2006 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Pewamo. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m., today at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorials will be posted at the funeral home.
