Nov. 1, 1928 TERRIBLE ACCIDENT FATHER KILLS GIRL Rosamond Ludwig Loses Life at the hands of Her Father, Father Prostrated With Grief. Frederick Ludwig, the nineteen year old son of Claud Ludwig of Lansing, and a friend named Hitchcock, had been hunting last Friday afternoon, using a new 22 caliber rifle.Upon their return they placed the gun in the kitchen where the daughter Rosamond, fifteen years old, was preparing supper. Two acquaintances of Mr. Ludwig senior, came in and he went to the kitchen and picked up the gun to show them, when the gun discharged, its load and the bullet entered Rosamond's breast and she dropped to the floor. The girl was taken to St. Lawrence hospital, where she died Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.. It is said Mr. Ludwig, who is unable to account for the accident is prostrated with grief over the terrible loss. Miss Ludwig was a high school student and her brother is attending M.S.C. Mis Ludwig's mother was Ruby Newman of Portland and her father, Claud Ludwig, is well known by many reader of the Wave-Times being a son of Mrs. Lucinda Ludwig of this place.
