DOD: Saturday, 26 February 1916 Belding Banner – Wednesday, March 1, 1916 Milo Luick, son of Frank Luick, passed away at his home on Center Street Saturday evening at 7:30 o’clock. For several years he has been afflicted with tubercular trouble and made a hard and brave fight against it, trying outdoor work on the farm for a time and also the sanitarium at Howell in an endeavor to overcome the disease. About three weeks ago he was taken with hemorrhages, which confined him to the house and he gradually sank away until relieved of his sufferings by death. He was born in Tustin in 1890, his mother dying when he was nine days’ old. About seven years ago he was married to Miss Carley McCracken of St. Johns, who has been a most devoted wife and loyal helper to him in his affliction. During the last week of his life he suffered much in his weakened condition, but kept cheerful and talked with his friends until within a few moments of the end. A few months ago he accepted the Christian Science faith and gave up taking medicine from physicians. He was the city bill poster and agent for the Baxter laundry and had many friends here. The funeral held at the house was large and was in charge of C. A. Finch, a scientist from Grand Rapids, who delivered the sermon and spoke words of comfort and consolation. The remains were placed in River Ridge cemetery.
