Lulofs, 20, who was killed Saturday in Vietnam. He was the son of Garrit Lulofs of route 2, Door and the foster son of Rev. and Mrs. William Williams of Alaska, near Clarksville. Spec Lulofs lived with the Williams family from a few days old until he was seven. At that time he went to live with his father and remained there until his graduation from Wayland high school in 1965. He again returned to the Williams' home until he went into service August 11, 1966. He received his basic training at Ft. Knox, Ky., and Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. In May of 1967 he was transferred to Vietnam as a gunner on a helicopter with the 187th assault helicopter company in Tay Ninh area. Surviving in addition to his father and foster parents are two sisters, Mrs. Marian Gilder of Dorr and Delores Lulofs of Grand Rapids; three foster brothers, Donald, William and John Williams of Clarksville; three foster sisters, Mrs. Beverly Menter of California, Mrs. Carmen Curtis and Mrs. Mary Gage of Clarksville.
