Ionia Sentinel, 12 Jun 1980

Modesta R. Luna, 89, of 331 Kent St., died Wednesday at a Lansing hospital.  
She was born Feb. 24, 1891 in Texas, the daughter of Patricio and Manuelito 
Rodriquez.

Her husband, Santos, preceded her in death in 1945.

She is survived by six sons, Raymond of Flint, Paul of Lapuenta, Ca., Alfonso 
and Floyd of Portland, Alfred of Three Rivers and John of Owosso; two 
daughters, Mrs. Maria Segovia of San Antonio, Tex., and Mrs. Mamie L. Perez, of 
Lansing; two brothers, Joan and Uca, both of Texas; two sisters, Paula Zule, 
and Julena Rodriquez, born of Texas; 58 grandchildren and 25 great 
grandchildren.  Several great-great grandchildren and great-great-great 
grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Mass will be Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Patricks Church, Portland.  The 
Rev. Fr. Donald Weber will officiate.  A Rosary will be said at Neller Funeral 
Home, Portland, Thursday at 8 p.m.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 
Westphalia.
