Misfortune has again fallen upon William Luscher, who has been totally blind for more than two years. Saturday his faithful companion passed away, after a short illness of heart trouble. It was Mrs. Luscher who watched over him and cheered him in his loneliness. Deceased was born in Portland 62 years ago. Her maiden name was Roxanna Buell. her first husband was Fred Balderson, who died 26 years ago. There are four children by this union – Arthur, Portland; Fred, Eagle; Edna and Robert, Lansing. Mrs. Fred Gunn of West Sebewa, is a sister. Five years ago she was united in marriage to Mr. Luscher and the couple for some time resided on a farm in Sebewa, coming to this village about three years ago. Funeral services are to be held at the Baptist church Tuesday at 2:00. Rev. John H. Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Portland cemetery.
