When about 11 years of age she came to Michigan with her parents, and at 14 came to her late home to work for the mother of Frank Luscombe, whom she married November 12, 1870. Death came suddenly, many of her nearest relatives not knowing of her sickness. To all appearances she was in her usual health until Friday, and from then until the last, she suffered almost constant pain. Still her condition was not considered dangerous until about ten o’clock Tuesday night when it became apparent that the end was near. She was conscious at all times and spoke touchingly to her husband and children staying she was most there and she would be happy then. She tried to sing “Nearer, My God, to Thee,” and wished it sung at her funeral, and asked Dr. I. S. Morris to preach the sermon which, he did from the 10th verse of 23rd chapter of Numbers. Of her it can truly be said in the fullest sense, “None knew her, but to love her, None named her, but to praise. She leaves a husband, five children, a father, six sisters and four brothers. Subsequent Publication: Chas. Luscombe and sister Mrs. M. Ferris of Sumner returned home Monday after a few days visit in this vicinity, they were called here by the death of their sister-in-law, Mrs. Frank Luscombe.
