He was born September 9, 1888 in Carlton Township, Barry County, the son of Louis and Louise Patten Lydy, and was married November 13, 1909 at Hastings to Edna Thomas. They had spent their entire married life at the present home. Surviving besides his wife, Edna, are two sons, Vaught and George Lydy of Hastings; a daughter, Lillian Hayward of Hastings; nine grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Hortense Quick of Kansas City, Kan. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa with burial at Fuller cemetery in Barry County. The Rev. Luther Brokaw, pastor of Central Methodist Church of Lake Odessa, will officiate.
