James Lyle, Sr., 78 years old and a resident of Easton township for the past 51 years, passed away at his home last night at midnight after a long illness. Mr. Lyle was seriously ill with pneumonia early in the spring and had failed rapidly since that time. He had been a member of the Dildine Methodist church for a good many years and had been a faithful worker in this denomination. Mr. Lyle is survived by his wife and three children, two brothers and three sisters. The children are: James Lyle, jr., of Easton, Mrs. Joseph Monks and Harry Lyle of Ionia. The brothers are Andrew of Riverside, Calif., and John of Tonawanda, N. Y. He is also survived by three sisters: Mrs. Jerry Brooks of this city, Mrs. Harry Fowler of Detroit, and Mrs. Clara Whorley of Akron, O. The funeral will be held from the home Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock Sun time and at 2 o’clock from the Dildine church. Burial will take place in Oak Hill cemetery, Rev. R. E. Meader, officiating.
