Mr. Lloyd W. Lynch, 88, of Easton Township, Ionia, left this life and went to 
join his extended family and Lord after much suffering, on Thursday evening, 
Oct. 14, 1999, at Metropolitan Hospital, Grand Rapids.

He was born on Sept. 24, 1911, in Beal City, the son of Ralph and Olive (Todd) 
Lynch and lived in Isabella County (Mount Pleasant), most of his life, moving 
to Ionia County 22 years ago. Lloyd married the former Irene V. Decker on Jan. 
22, 1936, in Shepard and she survives after 63 years of married life.  

He was employed at Roosevelt Refinery in Mount Pleasant for 37 years as a 
skilled carpenter before his retirement.  Lloyd enjoyed the outdoors, 
especially fishing, hunting and gardening.  Mr. and Mrs. Lynch spent 16 
winters in Mesa, Ariz., and he was the neighborhood fix-it man.  He was 
faithfully affiliated with the Easton United Methodist Church for the past 
several years. 

Surviving is his wife, Irene; one daughter, Janet (Lawrence) Fillhard of Alma; 
one son, Gale (Connie) Lynch of Saranac; five grandchildren, Laura, Julie, 
Chester, Jeff and Debbie; five great-grandchildren, Becky, Maggie, Katie, 
Scotty and little Chester; one brother, Roy (Donna) Lynch of Merrill; one 
sister, Thelma (Orval) Reed of Weidman; nieces and nephews.  He was preceded 
in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth and one sister, Myrtle.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, at 11 a.m. at Easton 
United Methodist Church with the Rev. Judy Downing officiating and the 
interment will be in Easton Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Sunday from 
2until 4 p.m. and 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the Rich St. Chapel of Cook Funeral 
Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Easton United Methodist 
Church Memorial Fund or the Ionia Area Hospice.  Envelopes are available at 
the Cook Funeral Home or at the church.  Organist will be Sondra Ward and 
pallbearers will be Eugene Lynch, Ronnie Lynch, Ralph Lynch, Michael Decker, 
Steven Pyrett, Jeff Lynch and Chester Fillhard.  Special music will be by 
Audrey Mason.
