The Portland Observer, Thursday, September 6, 1928

Wickliff C. MacGowen, 80, former resident of Pewamo, died at the home of his 
daughter, Mrs. George Young in Owosso Friday night.  He was a Civil war 
veteran and had lived at Pewamo from the close of the war until 11 years ago, 
when he went to Owosso to reside with his daughter.  He had been a wagon maker 
and undertaker in Pewamo.
