September 12, 1986 RAY MACKIE KALAMAZOO-Ray Mackie, 60, of Kalamazoo, died Sept. 10. He was born Oct.28, 1925, in Kentucky, the son of Armas and Nell Mackie. He was the owner of Mackie Jewelers in Ionia since 1959. He also owned stores in Kalamazoo and Sault Ste. Marie. He was an active member and past president of the Kalamazoo Lions Club, Gem and Mineral Society and the First Congregational Church. He was a veteran of WWII in the U.S. Air Force. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; one son, David of Houston, Texas two daughters, Kay E.Young of Otsego and Leslie C.Khosrazani of Kalamazoo; his mother, Nell Mackie of Sault Ste.Marie; one sister, Dorothy Quack of Sault Ste. Marie; nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today at 1 p..m. at the Langeland Memorial Chapel, 622 S.Burdick St., Kalamazoo. Memorials have been established for the American Diabetes Association or the Lions Club Leader Dog Program.
