Macklin, 75, of 313 West Cass, died July 1, at United Memorial hospital, and services were July 3. Born March 20, 1898 in Ionia he was a son of Jay and Anna Macklin and former employee of the C & O railroad. He was also a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Ray I. Booth post of American Legion. Surviving is his wife Viola, whom he married November 18, 1919; daughter, Mrs. Donald Burgess of Greenville, and son Jerry of Edmore; two brothers, James of Belding and Carl of Alma; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. George Fleming of Turk Lake United Methodist church officiating assisted by Rev. Lowell Swantz of Edmore, under the auspices of Marshall Funeral home in Greenville. Burial was in Vinewood cemetery at Edmore.
