Sentinel-Std. - Monday, Sept. 12, 1960

Jay F. Macklin, 86, died Saturday at the Ionia Rest home.

Born in Ionia July 2, 1874, Mr. Macklin worked for Pere Marquette Railroad 
from 1898 until his retirement July 31, 1941.

He was a charter member of the Moose, having joined the lodge in 1912. He 
also had been a member of the Elks lodge since 1905.

Surviving are three sons, Clayton of Greenville, James of Ionia, and Carl of 
Alma; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His wife, anna, 
preceded him in death in 1935.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Myers funeral 
home with burial at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
