Macklin, 74, of Belhaven apartments Belding will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph church in Belding. Rev. John Wisneski will officiate and interment will be at Otisco cemetery. Mr. Macklin died Tuesday morning at the Belding Christian home following an extended illness. Born in Ionia September 18, 1901, he was the son of Jay and Anna Honson Macklin and attended the SS Peter and Paul academy. He was employed by Pere Marquette Railroad ten years, managed Sullivan’s ice cream store seven years and worked as retain clerk at Hiler’s Clothing store 20? years before retiring. June 3, 1924 he married Esther Harrington at the SS Peter and Paul church and they made their home in Ionia until moving to Belding in June 1972. He was a member of St. Joseph church of Belding, life member of the Ionia Elks lodge, charter member of the Ionia county Fishing and Hunting club and had served on the Ionia Boy Scout council 15 years. Besides his wife Esther, he leaves two daughters Mrs. Barbara Lowe of Midland and Mrs. Patricia Rittersdorf of Union N.H., six grand children, and a brother, Carl Macklin of Alma. The body will be at the Leddick funeral home in Ionia until Thursday evening when it will be taken to the St. Joseph church at Belding.
