Feb. 19, 2013 David B. MacMillen, 66, of Belding, formerly of Greenville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at his home. He was born Oct. 16, 1946 in Muskegon, Mich., the son of Donald E. and Lois M. (Taylor) MacMillen. He loved bowling, fishing, golfing, long rides for picture taking, spending time with his grandchildren, nephews and niece, was involved in law enforcement with the City of St. Louis, Missouri, Greenville Police Department, Montcalm and Ionia county as undersheriff, worked at Brown Corporation, Country Roads, was a bail bondsman, was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the American Legion Post #101 Greenville. He is survived by his wife Mary; daughter Lisa and (Steve) Beene of Olive Branch, Miss.; sons Jeffrey and (Rebecca) MacMillen of Gowen, Donald and (Rebecca) MacMillen of Greenville and William Burns V, of Sheridan; grandchildren Krickett Schmidt, Hailey Logan and Gabby MacMillen, Sydney and Brayden Harwood, Mitchel, Austin and Nolan MacMillen and Hayleigh Burns; brothers, Brian Larsen of Kalamazoo and Jack and (Sue) Akey of Wyoming, Mich.; sisters Sue and (David) Burke of Florida, Ruth and (Bob) Burr of Caledonia and Vicki and (Larry) Reeder of Florida; step father Eston Larsen; mother-in-law, Iloann Gee; sister-in-law Beverly and (Pat) Slager; brother-in-law Kevin Gee; and his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Donald; mother Lois; stepmother Jean; brothers and their wives, Donald and (Glena), Dick and (Jackie); sister Patricia Klimp; and his father-in-law, Joseph Gee. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at the Greenville Community Church, with Pastor Joel Heron officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville and from 10 a.m. till the services Thursday at the church. Full Military Committal Services will be held outside the church after the services conducted by the American Legion Post #101, Greenville. There will be a luncheon at the American Legion following the committal. Memorial Contributions can be made in David’s name to the Kidney Foundation.
