Ethel F. MacNeven, 85, formerly of Palo, died Thursday at her residence in 
Luzerne, Michigan.  She was born on July 23, 1907, in Pine Run, the daughter 
of Lee and Nellie McCumsky Whitman.

She worked for Petersons Jewelry Store in Ionia for many years before retiring 
in 1968.  She moved to the Luzerne area from Palo in 1982.  She enjoyed 
dancing and traveling.

Surviving are her husband Glen of Luzerne; two daughters, Jean Hodges of Hale 
and Kit Cobb of Grand Rapids; 19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; five 
great great grandchildren; and one sister, Julia Watson of Saginaw.  She was 
preceded in death by a son, Lee Christopher.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
