Macomber, 85, of 114 East Lincoln avenue, died at 12:20 Monday afternoon in the Ionia County Memorial hospital where she had been a patient for about 10 days. She had been in poor health for several months. Mary M. Allaert was born March 29, 1859 in Grand Rapids and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Allaert, who had just moved to Grand Rapids from Belgium. She spent her girlhood life in Grand Rapids until her marriage December 13, 1879 to Frank C. Macomber, in Muskegon. The couple made their home in Muskegon before moving to Ionia where they had resided for the past 36 years. Surviving besides the husband, Frank, is a daughter, Mrs. Carrie F. Benjamin, of Ionia. Mrs. Macomber was a member of the Church of Christ and of the Mrs. T. B. Preston Sunday school class. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Stone funeral home. Subsequent Publication: Friday, September 29, 1944 Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Macomber, 85, who died Monday at Ionia County Memorial hospital, were held at the Stone funeral home Thursday afternoon under direction of the Rev. C. A. Brady of the Church of Christ. The body was placed in Highland Park Mausoleum. Bearers were Reinhardt Schroeder, Herman Hacker, Benjamin Cox, James McBrayne, George Comstock and R. W. Meisling. Among those from out of town attending the services were Miss Flora Bauman and James Scott, Kalamazoo; Edward Kinne and Mrs. O. Brough, Grand Rapids; Mrs. Julia Hansen, Stanton, and Miss Marvel Hansen, Detroit.
