The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Tuesday, February 29, 1916

Mrs. Rachel Madison, mother of Frank C. Miller, of Ionia, died at her home, 
four miles west of Lowell, suddenly last night, after an illness of but an 
hour.  She was 76 years of age.  The funeral services will probably be held 
Thursday.  Mrs. Madison had always lived in Keene and Vergennes for the past 
50 years and was a well known pioneer resident.  She leaves children, F. C., 
Ed. of Saranac, Alonzo of Saranac, Fred of Belding, Chauncey of Keene, Mrs. 
Geo. Beckwith of Lansing and Mrs. Al. Briggs.  Mrs. Madison was born near 
Boston, Mass.
