Madison who formerly lived in Keene, died last week at the home of her daughter Mrs. A.R. Hendricks in Chicago. The body was brought to Lowell and the funeral was held at the home of Wm. Dawson Monday morning at ten o’clock Rev. W.D. Ogg officiating. Burial was made in Marble cemetery. She will be remembered as Mrs. Mary House who lived for a number of years one-half mile west of the Marble cemetery in this township. She was born Dec. 13, 1820, in Madison County, N.Y. She came to Michigan fifty-seven years ago, locating several miles south of Lowell. Five years ago she went to Chicago to live with her daughter, Mrs. Hendricks, besides whom she leaves one son Chas. House and two daughters Mrs. John Sherman of Belding and Mrs. Wm. Dawson of Lowell. She was an aunt of Messrs. George and Newell Raymond. Belding Banner, Thursday, 13 Feb 1908 The remains of Mrs. Mary Madison, aunt of George Raymond, was brought to the Marble cemetery for burial on Monday. She died at the home of her daughter in Chicago. Funeral was held at Wm. Dawson’s in Lowell at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Belding Banner, Thursday, 20 Feb 1908, front page Obituary - Mary Ann Benn was married to Anthony House in 1838 at Lenox, Madison county, New York. There were seven children born to them. Anthony House moved to Michigan 57 years ago and died in Keene township, Ionia county, in 1858. Mrs. House died February 6, 1908, aged 89 years. She leaves three daughters, one son, 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grand-children and one great-great-grand child to mourn their loss. The surviving children are Julia Sherman, Belding; Jane Dawson, Lowell, Nettie Hendrix, Chicago, and Charles House, Sparta, Michigan.
