Ronald Pioneer Dies Saturday

Funeral services for C. Elvin Magee, 86 year old Ronald township resident, who
died at his farm home Saturday, were held at Ionia Tuesday afternoon and the
remains were taken to the cemetery at Elsie for interment.  Mr. Magee had been a
resident of Ionia county for the past 42 years.  His first wife, Ida Jane
Worden, to whom he was married on March 30, 1874, passed away in 1895.  Nine
children were born to this union, all of whom are living.  They are Mrs. E.
O’Toole of Pierson, Mrs. L. Cairns of Valparaiso, Ind., Mrs. Bert Fox of
Cascade, William Magee, Frank Magee of Ionia, Mrs. Harvey Ellison of Saranac,
Mrs. Wilson Purdy of Orleans, George Magee of Winnipeg, Canada, and Louis Magee
of Hawthorn, California.

His second wife was Elizabeth Webster, of Ovid, to whom he was married on March
16, 1897, who with their three children, Mrs. Elvon Stebbins of Ionia, Miss
Jessie Magee at home and Mrs. Clara Halstead of Grand Rapids survive.  There are
also four sisters, 42 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
