Lucada E. “Lucky” Mahar, age 79, of Belding, passed away Sun., May 1, 2005 at 
Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus in Grand Rapids.

Lucky was born Jan. 3, 1926, in Muskegon, the daughter of R. Carter and Esther 
Legesen Churchill.  Lucky graduated from Belding High School with the class of 
1944.  She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and the LWML.  Lucky was 
a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family 
and many friends.

Lucky was married Dec. 9, 1946, in Eaton Rapids to Charles “Bub” Mahar and he 
survives her, along with their children, L. Pam and Vern Wittenbach of 
Wilmington, Del., Chari and Terry Johnson of Laurium, Chuck and Peggy Mahar of 
Greenville, Tom and Laurie Mahar of Belding, Matt and Percy Mahar of 
Greenville; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister Patrine 
“Putt” Churchill, of Belding.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Belding, 
with Pastor Gary Jacobsen officiating.  Internment will be in River Ridge 
Cemetery Belding.  Visitation is 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday 
at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.  Memorial Contributions may be 
given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
