Mahar, 63, died at her home on East State street, Belding, April 7 after an illness of two and one-half years. Mrs. Mahar was born June 17, 1898 in Alpena and had lived in Belding 47 years. She was married to John Mahar April 23, 1917. She was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran church and its Ladies Society, also a past president of Blue Star Mothers club. She is survived by her husband, John Mahar; three sons, Ronald E., Jack, Jr., and Charles A. all of Belding; one sister, Mrs. Ora (Martha) Tingley, route one, Orleans, one half-sister, Mrs. Florence Gagne, Alpena; one half-brother, Clarence Adrian, Alpena, her step-mother, Emma Adrian of Alpena and ten grandchildren. Funeral services were Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran church with the Rev. Donald Krueger officiating and burial was in River Ridge cemetery.
