He had been ill since February 28. Employed as an express messenger for Railway Express Agency in Grand Rapids for 30 years, he retired 11 years ago and moved in Lake Odessa on M-50. A son of George and Mary (Shumway) Maile he was born September 30, 1877 in Schoolcraft. Mr. Maile was married to the former Dorothea Begerow December 29, 1906 at the home of her parents northwest of Lake Odessa and they resided in Grand Rapids until his retirement. He was a member of Brotherhood of Railway clerks and Loyal Order of the Moose No. 50 of Grand Rapids. Surviving are his wife, Dorothea, two daughters, Mrs. Vivian Sadler of Muskegon, Mrs. Laurence Botbyl of Grand Raven; three sons, Lawrence of Grand Rapids, Fredrick of Caledonia and Harold of Battle Creek, 22 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Pickens funeral chapel, where services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The Rev. A.J. Pitman will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.
