Mains, 72, of Anchor Lake, Hillman, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Morris-Roetman funeral home at Saranac. Dr. Lloyd Walker of Berlin Center United Methodist church will officiate and burial will be at Saranac cemetery. Mrs. Mains, who has relatives in the Saranac area, died Monday at Alpena general hospital. She was born November 3, 1901 in Wilson township, Alpena county, the daughter of Henry and Estelle Herron Cochrane. She taught school in Wilson township and Hillman and also worked in Wayne county as a field worker instructing teachers. Surviving are the husband, Arthur Mains, former resident of Saranac; son, Richard Mains of Berkeley, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Barbara Mattegen of Inkster, Mrs. Patricia Robinson of Hillman, Mrs. Jere VanRhee of Westland and Mrs. Carole Finley of North Manchester; three brothers, Oran Cochran of St. Louis, Robert and Donald of Alpena; 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Hillman Methodist church. Until then the body will be at the Frank Hunter funeral home, Alpena and will be brought to Saranac following services there.
