The Hastings Reminder, April 1999

Maudaline J. Majinska, age 81, of Standish formerly of Lake Odessa, passed 
away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 31, 1999.  She was born October 15, 1917 
in Lake Odessa, the daughter of George and Susie (Trumpower) Rathbun.

She married Joseph Majinska on March 2, 1940 and he preceded her in death on 
April 4, 1982.  She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, Altar Rosary 
Society, Rural Mother sStudy Club, and Farmers Union.  Mr. Majinska was also 
preceded in death by her sister, Maxine McLeod; brothers, Maurice and Maxwell 
Rathbun; granddaughter and great grandson.

Mrs. Majinska is survived by her sons, Richard (Elizabeth) Majinska of 
McMillan, Joe Jr. (Debra) Majinska of Eagle, George (Susan) Majinska of 
Lowell; daughters, Martha Sturm of Lyons, Mary (Ron) Bergeron of Standish, and 
Jane (Kenneth) Gasper of Belding; 18 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; 
and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, April 5, 1999 at St. Edward Catholic 
Church, Lake Odessa, Father Tom Boufford celebrating.  Interment was in 
Lakeside Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the St. Edward’s Building Fund or 
St. Edward’s Youth Center.  Arrangements were made by Koops Funeral Chapel, 
Lake Odessa.
