Mr. Majinska was born in 1836 in the province of Poson, Eastern Prussia, and was married to Antonia Kubisch, to which union six children were born. Joseph, now living in Odessa township; Raymond, of South Carolina; Mrs. Mary Crane and Mrs. Anna Arnold of South Ionia; Mrs. Emma Slowinski, of Berlin township, and John Majinska, of Odessa township, all of whom survive their father, together with 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Majinska came to this country about 50 years ago and at that time secured employment on the farm of Alonzo Sessions in Berlin township, where he remained for eight years. He then purchased a 120-acre farm in Odessa township, on which he resided until about 16 years ago, when he and Mrs. Majinska moved to Ionia to make their home with their daughters Mary and Anna, who then lived on North Dexter street. Mrs. Majinska died eight years ago at the age of 75. The funeral for Mr. Majinska was held this morning at 9 o’clock from the Church of SS. Peter and Paul. Solemn High Mass was given by a visiting priest and the sermon was given by Rev. Fr. H.D. McCarthy. The bearers were Frank Wirtz, A.N. Gillis, John Spitzley, and Edward Banhagel. Burial took place in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
