Beatrice M. Majors, 94, formerly of Portland, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 26,
2000.  She was born the daughter of Able and Emma (Smith) Rockwood Sept. 12,
1906, in Long Rapids.  She retired as a volunteer and nurse’s aid at the V.A.
Hospital in Battle Creek.

Surviving are five sons, Lawrence (Mary Jean) Reed of Holt, Howard (Lela) Reed
of Florida, Arnold (Dutch) Reed of Florida, Richard (Virginia) Reed of Lyons,
and Lanny (Cynthia) Reed of Portland; one daughter, Linda Ferguson of Charlotte;
15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ina Morrison of
Lansing and Margaret (Kenneth) Green of Harrison.  She was preceded in death by
her husband, Marion Majors in 1972; her daughter, Diane Garcia; and one sister,
Mary McClean. 

Cremation has taken place and grave side service is planned in the spring at
Lyons Cemetery.  Arrangements made through Cook Funeral Home in Ionia.
