Malcomson died at his home, 638 Alger Ave. He had been ill only about ten days and his death was entirely unexpected by the family. Mr. Malcomson was injured by being thrown from his carriage several days ago. He was six miles in the country at the time and only with much difficulty was he able to get home. During his illness he was confined to his bed suffering much pain. Examination proved that two ribs were broken, and he was injured internally. However, up to a few minutes before his death it was believed he was growing better. Then he was taken with severe pains and died before relief could be given. The funeral will be held at the house Wednesday morning at 8 o’clock. Interment will take place in Saranac. Rev. J. C. Cromer will officiate. Mr. Malcomson has been a resident of Owosso for seven years and is a well known and highly respected gentleman. Most of his life was spent in Canada, where for many years he was wood inspector or conductor on the Great Western Railway. He was born in Long Hope, Orkney Islands, Scotland, and left his native country when he was sixteen years old. Many members of his family for generations were Scotch sailors, of whom twelve lost their lives at sea. Mr. Malcomson leaves to mourn his loss a wife, two sons, Alf and John, and step-daughter, Miss Marion Fuller, at home; two daughters, Mrs. S. E. Busser, of Emporia, Kas., and Mrs. C. A. Burbank, of Portland, Ore., and a second step- daughter, Mrs. F. E. Walton, of Vernon.
